Sherwin-Williams Addresses Changing Regulatory Demands With Tank Clad™ HS Coating For 60,000-Gallon Water Storage Tanks
(CLEVELAND – January 9, 2003) Sherwin-Williams Industrial and Marine Coatings group has many product offerings for the water/wastewater treatment industry, including Tank Clad™ HS, which is certified for tanks 60,000-gallons and larger.
Along with meeting the toxicological and extraction test requirements of ANSI/NSF Standard 61, the protective coating complies with EPA standards for VOC emissions. It was developed with low-molecular-weight polymers capable of greater crosslink density. In addition to requiring less solvent for superior flow and leveling, the polymers produce more chemically and corrosion-resistant finishes. Accelerated immersion and disbondment tests revealed that the coatings form strong bonds to numerous substrates, including steel and concrete, and are compatible with both impressed current and galvanic protection systems.
The Sherwin-Williams Chemical Coatings Division, with more than 135 years of experience in products finishing technology, serves the chemical coatings market through a North American network of company-owned locations and with expanding global reach. Sherwin-Williams broad line of low-VOC coatings, full range of technical support and just-in-time distribution capabilities allows finishers to specify quality coatings with the assurance of regulatory compliance.
