New Sherwin-Williams Epoxy Coating Ideal for Petrochemical Facilities
Fast Clad® ER Epoxy Allows Immersion Service in 24 Hours and Provides Superior Edge-Retentive Properties
(CLEVELAND – June 16, 2003) New from Sherwin-Williams Industrial and Marine Coatings is Fast Clad® Edge Retentive (ER) Epoxy, an ultra high-solids epoxy Bisphenol A amine coating. Ideal for petrochemical facilities such as oil refinery tanks and chemical plants, this rapid-cure coating enables immersion service in 24 hours, while providing superior protection compared to conventional epoxies.
The low-odor, low-VOC coating allows rapid return to service and offers greater than 70% edge-build retention for improved corrosion resistance. When applied at 20.0 mils wet at 50% relative humidity, the 98% solids tank lining is dry to touch in one hour and can be walked on within four hours. Designed for plural-component application equipment, Fast Clad ER Epoxy is recommended for use over prepared steel surfaces.
The Sherwin-Williams Chemical Coatings Division, with more than 135 years of experience in products finishing technology, serves the chemical coatings market through a North American network of company-owned locations and with expanding global reach. Sherwin-Williams broad line of low-VOC coatings, full range of technical support and just-in-time distribution capabilities allows finishers to specify quality coatings with the assurance of regulatory compliance.
