Remember the joke about small towns?

"Don't blink on your way through town - you might miss it."

These days, you could come up with a similar line about the fast-paced, everchanging heavy-duty coatings industry.

"Blink" and you might miss an innovative equipment update or news about a new coatings formulation, each of which seem to lurk around virtually every corner.

At Sherwin-Williams, we strive to keep you informed about the latest in this dynamic industry by staffing a highly trained field organization, supporting an unmatched distribution network, and sharing the secrets of success told by customers such as yourselves.

In fact, this issue of Coatings Solutions magazine delivers an important bridge repainting study conducted by the state of Connecticut, comparing the benefits of a two-coat system in a rapid deployment work environment to a traditional three-coat system (page 8). Wefre pleased to report that the state saw fit to conduct its experiments with coatings from the Sherwin-Williams ExpressTech family of value-engineered coatings, including our Fast Clad Urethane. The state found significant savings in time and money using our new system - as well as an improvement in safety for the traveling public who experienced fewer and shorter lane closures due to the new technology.

Also in this issue, you'll find updates on exciting new products from our Industrial & Marine group (page 16), and an example of how a partnership with Sherwin-Williams helped construction of a new research facility wrap two months ahead of schedule (page 4).

Let Sherwin-Williams keep you on the cutting edge of the heavy-duty coatings industry - especially if you happen to blink.
