Coatings for Galvanized,Using Water-Based Epoxy, and Coating a Rusted Steel Tank

I listened to a painting contractor talk recently about the various industrial coatings projects he had under way. In addition to application issues, he also spent as much time discussing safety planning, logistics coordination and various other details that were going into the projects.

In the end, the application of paint is what a facility owner hires a contractor to do. But the success of an industrial painting project depends on multiple levels of coordination and execution as much as it does the application of paint.

New technologies continue to shape the industrial coatings industry, and the benefits are being shared both by owners and contractors. For owners, systems that once promised five to sevenyear life cycles now offer 10 or more. For contractors, projects that required three coats now require two, or in some cases, a single coat, offering the savvy contractor a competitive advantage and the ability to tackle more projects at higher operating margins than ever before.

But as the roles of contractors, owners and specifiers have evolved, so has ours as a supplier partner. Our services transcend the manufacture and delievery of coatings and include the expertise of more than 200 technically skilled industrial and marine field personnel capable of providing guidance and input for all of your projects. No longer do our new technologies apply only to our coatings.Programs such as Site Survey - a proprietary software program that will help facility managers forecast their maintenance coating needs (page 24) - show that our research and development team is capable of innovation well beyond that which we put into a can.

Your projects present a variety of complexities and challenges. Partnership with Sherwin-Williams Industrial & Marine Group can help you manage them.
