Color. Quality. Image.

Coatings serve both functional and aesthetic purposes for USFilter, the water and wastewater treatment industry giant with more that $3.9 billion in 2002 revenues.

Winners

Rick and David Ascher will never play for the Chicago Bears or the Chicago White Sox, but they played a key role in the success of their hometown sports teams this season.

Primed to Paint

There is a school of thought among steel fabricators that painting is a necessary evil, but no one at Brooklyn Iron Works is Spokane, Washington, attended that school.

Ask the Experts

Holiday detection on flake-filled coatings, a one-part paint for a concrete floor, and causes of rust bloom

It’s been said that hitting a major league fastball is the most difficult feat in all of sports. It requires superior hand-eye coordination, the ability to make split-second decisions and above all, the nerve to stay in the batter’s box. In short, it demands a unique set of skills.

As the industrial coatings contractor selected to repaint US Cellular Field, home of baseball’s Chicago White Sox, Ascher Brothers Co. Inc. had to exhibit similarly unique skills. By carefully examining the original coatings specifications, they convinced the project managers to rewrite the specs to ensure a longer lasting, more successful coatings application. It meant that Ascher Brother’s earned another opportunity to hit a home run, which they did (page 18).

At Sherwin-Williams, we understand that an industrial coatings supplier must possess the unique capabilities that your particular project demands.

In some cases, it’s our national distribution system that positions us as the ideal coatings supplier. For example, Brooklyn Iron Works is a Washington steel fabricator that has seen its shop painting volume triple over recent years. Because much of its finished steel is shipped to Hawaii, they require a local, on-site product and service presence (page 12).

In other cases, it’s a matter of logistics. Water/wastewater giant US Filter turns nearly $4 billion in annual revenues. Having a national agreement with a single-source supplier capable of servicing the needs of such a large company has enabled them to streamline their purchasing procedures and standardize specifications at manufacturing centers throughout North America (page 4).

Whether your project can benefit from our distribution network, logistics strength, bid and specification help, or simply the finest industrial and marine coatings products available, Sherwin-Williams is uniquely qualified to be your solutions-based partner.
