The New Year began with a powerful new collaboration in the coatings industry – the first annual Paint and Coatings Expo held in January at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. By pooling the resources of the PDCA and SSPC, the new PACE event attracted more painting professionals than ever before.
As the Gold Medal Sponsor of PACE 2005, one of our biggest honors was the opportunity to bring in boxing great Sugar Ray Leonard as keynote speaker.
Many of you may remember Leonard's legendary middleweight bouts with Roberto Duran, Tommy Hearns and Marvin Hagler. The true grit he showed in these classic contests led the International Boxing Hall of Fame to name him Fighter of the Decade for the 1980s.
For those of you who were able to attend PACE, you know that Sugar Ray delivers a knockout punch as a speaker, too. In his presentation, "The Power To Win," he explained that competing in business and boxing are essentially the same – in both arenas, the same type of focus, preparation and discipline are needed to emerge as a champion.
