Sherwin-Williams Aerospace Coatings adds four distributors, expands its network across the nation and throughout the world

ANDOVER, Kan., April 24, 2002 — Sherwin-Williams Aerospace Coatings has announced the addition of four authorized Sherwin-Williams Aerospace Coatings distributors to its network: Aviall, Inc. of Dallas, Texas; Colortone Paint of San Antonio, Texas; Custom Chemical Engineering of Lincoln, Neb.; and Aero Performance Coatings in St. Louis, Mo.

“We’re extremely pleased to welcome these four companies to our distributor team,” says George McCarthy, Sherwin-Williams' Market Development Director–Aerospace and Military.

“The addition of Aviall, a worldwide aviation parts distributor, will give us a far-reaching, international presence in Australia, New Zealand and Asia. With their customer service centers throughout the world, and a catalog capable of reaching people in remote North American locations, Aviall will make it possible not only for more people to purchase our products, but also to receive the technical support they need, right where they are.”

Colortone Paint is a well-established automotive and aerospace coatings distributor that will serve Sherwin-Williams customers from its home base in San Antonio, Texas, and across the border in Mexico.

"To tell you the truth,” says Eddie Hernandez, sales manager at Colortone Paint, “the reason why we became a Sherwin-Williams distributor is because of their response on technical questions, customer service assistance and color matching.” Color matching, Hernandez points out, is very important to the customer. “With other vendors, we have had to wait as long as 10 days for a special color. As a Sherwin-Williams distributor, we can mix it right on the spot."

Sherwin-Williams has been doing business with Colorado Industrial Coatings and Tex Air Parts for several years. These companies have consolidated under one name, Aero Performance Coatings. In addition, they have added a service facility in St. Louis, Mo.

Custom Chemical Engineering has been a supplier of aerospace products for many years, and has now added the technical expertise in order to become a paint supplier. Their addition will give Sherwin-Williams a desired Northern Midwest presence.

The addition of these four companies brings to 20 the total of authorized Sherwin-Williams Aerospace Coatings distributors located throughout the United States, Canada and Europe.
